Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga is a traditional form of yoga coming from Mysore, South India that pays special attention to uniting a powerful internal breath with movement in a sequence leaving a calm mind with a light strong body. The practice learned at this workshop will be highly individualized as it will be personalized to each individual. Participants will leave the workshop having the knowledge of a beginning Ashtanga practice that they can do on their own at home as well as adding for more postures in future subsequent classes.

Shane Scaglione started his yoga practice in 1998 in NYC.
 
In 2003 Shane started a daily yoga practice & was introduced to Ashtanga yoga by Richard Freeman and started teaching yoga in 2004. Shane moved to Boulder in 2005 to study with Richard Freeman at the Yoga Workshop and was a scholarship recipient to Freeman’s month long Teacher Intensive in 2008. He took part in four other of his Intensives while going on to assist & teach Mysore style, & led classes at the Yoga Workshop. He also has assisted Richard Freeman.
 
Shane has lived over 3 years abroad in India studying with master teachers, going on pilgrimage to holy spots all over India and completing several long meditation retreats. He studied in Mysore with Pattabhi Jois and spent over a year of daily practice over 5 winters in Goa with his primary teachers Rolf and Marci Naujokat. He has taught abroad in India, Istanbul, Israel, and London.
 
Shane will be teaching workshops in Merritt Island, FL for the next few weekends.
