About Sensei Judy

My name is Judy Barnhart. I have been on the path of Shorin-Ryu Karate USA under the direction of Grand Master Ansei Usehiro since 1975. I was promoted to 6th degree, black belt by Ansei Ueshiro in the year 2000. I am the owner of a karate school on Merritt Island and I also own the karate museum next door. My life "work"/passion has been teaching the art that changes lives. Anyone can do Shorin-Ryu, it just takes a willingness to learn. I was born on Long Island, New York. I attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison in the 70's and majored in Dance Therapy.

Post Image

Every January, at the Okinawan Karate Dojo, located at 1755 S. Tropical Trail, Merritt Island, we enjoy the animal of the week.
