Free Assault Prevention/Introduction Karate Women Only Program. We had the first of the series last night! This is an informal group in street clothes and we always start with a circle. This picture was taken at the Elizabeth Hess: “New Vision Retreat” in Asheville/NC but the look of our program is the same. Women sharing, asking questions and getting answers. In attendance were 7 and counting myself, makes 8! After a brief sharing of who we all are, we began the orientation into the world of Karate. How to sit, how to stand, how walk, how to punch but most importantly, how to bow and what to say. Unlike a gym, each drill is followed by a courtesy bow and the words, arigato (thank you) or oh-na-guy-she-mas (please teach me) and Sensei (instructor). I am happy to report that we have attracted 7 fabulous women ready to explore what is behind a new karate door! We are currently taking a waiting list for the next “4 weeks Free Karate for Women only program”. Updates will follow. If you are interested call Judy Barnhart 321-459-3000. Okinawan Karate Dojo, 1755 S. Tropical Trail, Merritt Island, 2 and 1/2 miles south of SR 520 or just pull up in the driveway park your car and ring the bell to get on the list!
