There is a learning curve to everything new and with the learning curve comes frustration. If you are a brand new white belt don’t skip ahead. Stay with the first kata and use this 2 minute video as a reference. How many repetitions of kata does it take to float above it and feel the freedom of a moving meditation? A lot. We say 500. If you did ten of one kata for a month then it could take you a month and a half to get 500 under your belt. It’s not about how fast you get there, it’s the enjoyment along the way. Fukugata itch, basic from number one is a requirement for one green tip. Green tip ceremonies are given every two months. Remember to step first then punch and focus your punch to the chest or nose. The down blocking fits is always two big fits about the knee. You’ll get there keep trying!
